A stainless steel container used to keep food warm/cold longer with a detachable lid to help retain the temperature and to keep bugs out if using outdoors. It can be used for tailgating, graduation parties, bridal/baby showers, picnics or any other party!
My product is a stainless steel container used to keep food warm/cold longer with a detachable lid to help retain the temperature and to keep bugs out if using outdoors. The stainless steel has magnetic properties for attaching the pods (with magnets) that hold the gel packs. The prototype pods are red and blue to represent hot and cold but the colors could be changed to school colors if using for tailgating for example. The gel packs can be heated in the microwave or frozen to keep food warm or cold longer. The lid is also attached using magnets and is hinged to allow easy opening and closing without having to remove the lid from the container. There is a cutout in the corner of the lid to allow the serving utensil to rest inside while allowing the lid to close flat. The magnetic properties of the container would allow personalizing it with magnets such as team logos. An after market item could be a "tray" that attaches to the edge and hangs about halfway inside the container to allow for "layering" of food such as hor'douvres. Also, a thermometer for keeping an eye on the temperature of the food to prevent food poisoning. Included with the container would be information about food safety. I came up with the idea while using a plastic container that has one with ice and the other that rests inside with the food. I had people asking where I purchased it so I believe there is a market for my product. My product is better because the stainless steel and the lid retains the temperature longer. Also, there is no need for ice and can serve as duel purpose, cold and warm. The target market is woman 30-55 and men for tailgating. The census bureau shows that there are 52 million woman in this category. The estimated cost to produce the product is $10 and would retail around $40. I am interested in licensing the product. Thank you for your time, Lisa Harlow
